A Day in the Life

Homeschooling and Medieval Living

-From the Daily Compass:

Each time fireworks go off they leave behind a puff of smoke, which only gradually fades away on the wind, remaining much longer than the flash of colored light. So with our words, which remain in the minds of those who hear us well after the sound is gone.

How will you choose the shape and color of your words today so that you are pleased with the trail they leave behind?

I will try not to speak in anger but in love. I will count to ten first if I am angry. I will not gossip or spread rumors. I have a bad habit of speaking in anger. Things tend to come out much harsher than I intend. So, I will try to curb my anger and frustration. It is difficult, especially when the husband or kids frustrate me, but I will try.

— In other news…

My dad has been having prostate problems. So, he had some tests. Yesterday, he went to the doctor to get the results. He has prostate cancer. It is small and they caught it early. Now, he just needs to see his oncologist to find out what his options are. The bad thing is that Mom just got over her breast cancer. She had a mastectomy. She did not have to have radiation or chemo. She has been cancer free for two months. Now Dad has it. I lost and aunt and an uncle to cancer last year (within a month of each other). I am sick of cancer! It seems like every time I turn around, someone has it.  Please keep my family in your thoughts, light a candle, or say a prayer – whatever positive energy/thoughts we can get will help.
